by prestigious Parisian silversmith Emile Puiforcat.
IT IS WITH THE GREATEST PLEASURE and excitement we offer this to you here, a
Pair of Antique French Sterling Silver Serving Tureens
by prestigious Parisian master silversmith Emile Puiforcat in excellent condition.
These matching Pair of Tureens are wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver .950 purity, and weighs impressive 4,971 grams (159.82 troy ounces) in total. Each tureen comprises lid, bowl with side handles, and serving platter/tray. The design is most opulent Louis XVI style – ornamentation resembled to Rococo style, a.k.a Louis XV style, but the composition became more symmetrical and using more straight lines, done in superb quality Repoussé. The casted handles have unique double-shape with scrolling and
rocaille
scallop/sea shell decoration. The bowl is huge, having rare rectangle shape that gives a tremendous presence to the space.
The serving platters are also extremely gorgeous and important in their own right. Each platter weighs more than 1,000 grams, having unique square shape, and finely embellished with raised contour in matching Louis XVI style. Hand-engraved, intricate interlaced monogram VG on both tureens and platters.

Emile Puiforcat
. The Maison Puiforcat was established on 1857 at 18, then 16 rue Chapon in Paris. Emile died in 1883 and his successors maintained the same maker’s mark, flourished to the one of the most renown Parisian silversmith till today. K and X mark, probably serial numbers.

Each Tureen measures:
5.3 inch (13.5 cm) tall x 12.2 inch (31 cm) wide w/side handles x 6.9 inch (17.5 cm) large.
The pedestal feet measures 7.8 inch (20 cm) x 5.9 inch (15 cm.)
Each Platter measures:
13 x 13 inch (33 x 33 cm) exterior, 8 x 8 inch (20.5 x 20.5 cm) bottom.
